I was considering the MG zt version, same body but firmer suspension and big wheels, sporty interior etc. Produced in China now I think. The thing that holds me back is the unknown resale in future. I think a lot of Australians don't trust euro cars in general - only Toyota.
Europeans appear to not do high mileages in their cars before they flog them off. Could be that the rust gets to them from salty roads.

The link below might give you some info on the car from a UK point of view.
Used Rover 75 Saloon Car Review - Full Review - What Car?
Also remember the Rover here is like a Holden in Australia in that any garage will have no trouble working on it and knowing the ins and outs of the problems and how to fix them.
When Rover went bust the supply of parts was not impacted as they had sold this part of the business off before it went bottom up.
I thought the V8 and the MG V8 version with the Mustang V8 would have been the pick and not too many would have been driven by grandpa or parked outside bowling clubs.
As the Rover Marque is no longer being made I do not think one would be high on my list of purchases. It would have to be real cheap and came with a list of parts suppliers.

I have never owned one, I had a Morris Isis, but two of my old army mates had them and they were extremely solid. One rolled his twice just out of Broadmeadows and did no damage at all and no one hurt. Great car.
This IS the car you were talking about? Right?
