Can we laugh at the new Prado again?

"Unfortunately, during the period driving on sand, another five transmission temperature warnings came up. Every time a warning came up we had to stop and wait for the system to cool down."

"I wasn’t too impressed with the brakes on sand and loose gravel either. If you had to get onto the brakes hard, there would be a momentary lag between brake application and full brake intervention."

We destroyed a rear diff in a Prado (crown gear broke into 4 pieces) on a driver training weekend, Toyota told us not to mention it in the club mag otherwise they would wipe the poor owners warranty claim. (P.O.S)

Oh I don't know.... the Navigation System seems to get a good write up...you can only set the address while your waiting for the transmission to cool down. At least the kids can watch the Wiggles on DVD while your setting the address.

One of my friends just bought a VX diesel for $61K on the road minus a 10 K trade in on his Avalon.
Now the retail on that is $75K.
It is Black and was on the floor, but to me that is an extraordinary discount for a new model and it is a 2010 build.
Either the dealer is selling nothing at the moment because of the end of the feds giveaway or the Prado is not selling.

Check out pradopoint , there is a club for prado owners with diff failure.

Makes me feel just a little bit better when I look back on all those times my disco has been sent home on a truck from - big end, or turbo or air bag .... failures.

As ugly as prados are they are a lot better at keeping their oil where it is supposed to be Vs my disco, to quote a friend the british perfected the external lubrication system in LR.

If you want a brand new one for around 30k, drop into Ferntree Gully Toyota.
They have plenty on sale, if you don't mind them looking like golf balls !!
