They typically pay or provide some sort of compensation. How much depends on the budget and how suitable your vehicle is. If there's for example 20 Series III available and they aren't bothered about it being a S3, S2, or even a Pajero then it's not worth much to them. OTOH, if they absolutely must have a black S2 ute and that's central to the plot and you have the only one in Australia then your negotiating skills come into play. Plus what the vehicle needs to do and how long they want it for. You should ask for a fill of fuel and a detail, and other things like that. Asking for stuff after the fact such as free tickets is a lot less likely to happen.
