    Hi The Alloy is aluminium,and the joiners are some form of plastic You can get it at most Bunnings stores but your better off going direct to the manufacturers www.capral.com.au (just google it). They call it Qubelock.

    There are verious joiners to suit most applications and the whole systm is easy to use and work with also quite sturdy once finished. The braces I added for a bit more strength are scraps of stainless plate.

    Great job on the rear storage.
    I did something very similar for my 2 door Rangie. I like your idea for the cargo barrier.



    Mine is also held in with tie-down straps and can be easily removed if I need the space. Has been tested a few times off-road and it is rock solid.

    All up, mine came in around $350.
