I absolutely loved it, and to me, the staged bits just make it even funnier.

although I get the sense that May IS actually getting the peeeed off with them running into the back of him all the time.

I was also surprised when Clarkson was expecting his 1980 Range Rover to have a fuel injected 3.9 donk. Pretty sure that didn't come until later - he would have / should have known that.

It was an 82-84 rangie pre PHII it was advertised as having a 3.9 which it possibly did just with the carbs off the original motor. I dont think he has a clue mechanically.

I think it is - where they have the boat on the back of the bike and boats at the end.

errr - quick shifting a bike is a different can of worms compared to car\4WD the dog bones differ as well. Take it from someone who rode a modded Hayabusa pulling over 180HP on the rear wheel - quick shifting = super speed that cops hate & can't keep with

I liked this EP as well - however - pitty it really was sooo setup - like 99% of it!!
Here is a link to the blokes that setup the car's before hand, the routes, timing & all the rest of it.

That's the link I posted the other day...

BTW - The technique of going up through the gears is "Flat Shifting". Very common on sequential boxes and in performance environments. The idea is that it reduces the amount of time that the drive wheels are not being driven. However, the trade off is much greater wear on the drive train.

Bit off topic but I am curious. Do all Brits call each other by their sirnames even when they have been together long enough to be on a first name basis. eg Hammond May etc.

Some of you are criticising it "Clarkson may not have been in it when it was nearly off the cliff etc".

So what. It's ENTERTAINMENT, and its bloody good entertainment at that !
