In Victoria there are different rules for motor vehicles when compared to general goods. There are [small in vehicle terms] financial limits for claims which can be brought before the tribunal. If you exceed the limit and if no agreement is reached then the matter must go to open court - that means barristers. solicitors and costs for the losing party.

The other thing when going to both the Claims Tribunal and Court you will need to produce an independent engineers report substantiating your case. These are done by relatively few motor engineers as most don't want the hassle or reputation of being involved in litigation. And when you do find an engineer who will do a report be prepared to pay big time [huge] as they will have to disassemble what is wrong with your car, evaluate/measure/industrial x ray etc what is wrong, reassemble it and then write a report. Expect a bill of many, many [huge] thousands of dollars from the engineer.

take it as you will mate but If I had sat back and allowed my warranty claim to have been rejected I would have been paying $10,000 dollars on my 6month old car....and that is not a joke.

No this was not related to accessories however if I had followed the advice from above and sat back as I could not take on a big company well I I would of been 10,000 shorter.

Needless to say though I was prepared to go all the way and I would have mortgaged my house to do so...again not a joke. I was not prepared to be bullied it was very fortunate that a middle ground was met and I did not have to take the path I was very intent on walking down.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
