What is it with you guys moaning on about Prado trinkets. I put in heavy duty 12 V wiring so when I go bush I can run an inverter myself in the back and I would just love if it had been built into the D2. Then there is the 180 litre tank standard. If LR put in just 1/2 the effort that Toyo do to please the Australian touring 4X4 market it would be Sooooo Goooooood. Yes there is a nice smugness knowing that I do not drive a mass market car but that is about the limit of it. I admit that my brother has a new prado and my D2 is now 11 yrs old but it was me that was stuck with mechanical trouble, not him up cape york.

There is a new Australian inverted device that gives far safer coverage and is just starting to come on the market now.
I don’t know much more about it at this time but I think it will be the ants pants for improving the safe use of inverters or generators.

there are already documented instances of people being injured.
i would love to see some sort of mandated warning on vehicles that do have it on board.
like an lpg tag or sticker...

The inverter in the Prado is only rated at 100 Watts so it is not going to run anything substantial.
Although i did hear some people are running their fridges off it.
It is strange that all the normal rules for household mains don't seem to apply to inverters. The hazards are essentially the same.
but maybe better not to make too much noise, otherwise, we'll end up needing to have them installed by licensed electricians !

like i say... if people are happy... then great... as for the 240v? if a want it i'll use an inverter... but as Inc has said... as far as safety goes....
