Fox still make a good boot, 661, as well as those you have listed. Try them on & see what feels best.
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for some good offroad moto boots.. I like the strength of the MX ones, but I need a grippy sole and to be able to walk in them for 'Adventure' riding. The scenario I'm thinking is this: ride all day, then fall off 3 quarters of the way up a long steep dirt / gravel hill. The boots must be able to give me the grip and movement to pick up the bike and get it going again. (and walk up and down the hilll to help a mate)
I've been looking at the Oneal Clutch, Sidi Charger, and Gaene G10 (massive price difference, I know..).
Just keen on others experience really. I'm not a comp rider or anything, nor do I ride hard or need the best gear.. I just want to protect my feet, ankles and shins in a practical way.
Cheers guys..

I have been using "AXO" RCS for the past few years now, good all-round boot similar in style and quality to Alpine Star Tech 8.
I ride forest/enduro style riding and have been stuck on the occasional muddy hill and found the grip to be as good as you could expect.
I have Alpine Stars Tech 8, not a bad boot, wouldn't say they were good for walking in though, haven't had a MotoX boot yet that was good for walking or standing around in for long periods.
Probably the most comfortable I've worn so far for enduros, maybe a tad better than my old Sidi boots.

Cheers Baz.

I have had a pair of the Gaerne G10 boots for 2 years now and have riden 2 full years of competition riding and also the odd trail ride now and then. Have found them to be comfortable and hard wearing. Previously had fox boots but they fall apart after about the same period of time ( having said that they are a lot cheaper to buy) I think its a case of "you get what you pay for" look for boots that are comfortable and represent good value for money.
Best boots i ever used but you may have to do some groveling to get a pair the only reason they sold them to me was i wrote a long and boring email about how good there old Alfa Centauro boots were and they were good boots they lasted me about 20 years

I have a pair of Axo's. The price is great and they are very good boots. I ride in steep hilly, rocky terrain with some big river crossings. The only problem I have had with them is when they were new I had no feel. the first time with them I almost flipped the bike twice and coming down steep steep hills where you would like a little bit of back brake I was locking the rear up. Once they were worn in they are great. If I don't wear them when I go out, I don't feel safe. They have saved me from a broken ankle and foot about twice already I reckon.
It takes more than one night to dry them out after wading through rivers though, and the next day isn't always inviting! I wouldn't walk to the shops in them but you certainly walk up and down hills to help a mate.
Value for Money AXO Boxers around $200.00
Had a pair for ages very happy. I have had lots over the years
Cheers
Another vote for the Gaerne SG10. Very comfortable and good protection. Its not worth buying cheap gear when you need the best that will protect you when needed.
