    Unfortunate Names

From yesterday's Sydney Morning Herald...would love to sit in on this..I suspect the swear filter may kick in..

"An intriguing matter is looming in the District Court where a Mr. Moi Lay (moi in French means "me") is up against a Mr. Fuk Yu. One wonders what Yu said to Moi or Moi said to Yu to trigger the legal action."....

    Judge: Next case please..
Prosecutor: Fuk Yu before the court your honour...
    Judge: I beg your pardon?
Prosecutor: Moi Lay and Fuk Yu now before the court..
Judge: This court is adjourned....See me in my chambers now..and make sure you're wearing those boots Madam Prosecutor when you come in..

Used to buy parts from an American named Jim Kuntz, first time I spoke to him on the phone my first question was "how do you pronounce your surname", I didn't want to offend him, it was pronounced Koontz, he was actually thinking of changing his name to how it was pronounced, Regards Frank.

Years ago my father interviewed a candidate for a metallurgist position on King Island. He was from Burma and held a doctorate in metallurgy - his name was Dr. Fu Ku - pronounced the same as the gentleman in the court case in the original post.

Also had a shift foreman in the mill at Mount Magnet once - his name was George Kuntz. His wife's name was Ruth - he pronounced it "Root".

Had a classmate in high school in Ardlethan NSW named Wayne Kerr - honestly.
    Cheers .........
