Welcome to tassie. we made the move 5 years ago and still think its the best move we ever did.
when you make it down this way if you want to have an explore just call out. you will find there are plenty of us down here happy to show you around or point you in the right direction.
I'll keep an eye out for you. What did you think of the Meatworks?
Well we went to the meat works and got a lot of meat as the prices are very good, we had some marinated red wine and garlic rump for dinner last night, it was very tender, so we shall be going back again.
We went in today to find out about changing the regos over and we have to take both cars in to get roadworthy's done so i will have to book them in next week, they gave alist of places and there is a couple in Prospect, just up the road from us.
Big Al in Perth is the bloke to go to. He's excellent.
Gday all, well we are settling in nicely, the kids are enjoying schools Debs enjoying the house and iam actually enjoying my job, the guys i work with are great, we love how friendly the place is OH and to the mainlanders i couldnt believe it when i started to hear the most comon welcome here, LOL its "Gday COB" or "hey Cobber" i had not heard this saying since i was a kid and its great. I have met a couple of LR owners that come into the Remount waste station so if any of you are they, HEY COBBER :D.
Hi and welcome Cob.
See, a month here and your already a Tazwegian...... calling Australians, 'mainlanders'.
Like 'TerryO' said........ If anyone thinks Tassie is cold then don't move to Goulburn in winter. And if anyone thinks Brisbane is hot then don't move to Goulburn in summer.
And if you think I came from Goulburn, then you're correct .... and yes, I wear a T shirt in winter. It's actually warmer in winter here in the North West of the state than most parts of the Great Divide up in Australia. The last five years, we have not exceeded a few days of 32*C each summer, except in 2008 when it hit 42*C and then 36*C for about 3 days and in winter, a couple of nights at -2*C.
Hope to catch up some day MarknDeb.
Cheers,
Daryl.
