Haven't got a photo of it, but the escalator one reminds me of when they built the Iron Ore Bene plant at South Middleback Ranges out of Whyalla.
There was a major structural beam across the main entrance stairway at just above chest height - a lot of engineering and major re-work required to remove it, and the "fix" put in place was still pretty dodgy.
A clever bunch of chaps was Simon Engineering. :angel:

I don't have a photo of a favourite of mine. A home unit under construction in Avoca St. Randwick. The plumber ran the copper pipes in the wall and left tails sticking out at the kitchen sink position. The plasterers came along before the plumbers returned and simply bent the the tails back into the walls and sheeted the wall leaving a sink under a blank wall.
