yeah, if i'm short of cash i'll drink wine - a bottle of red for 6 bucks does the same as a 15 buck six pack. (not as nice though, sux been poor )
If only the Australian beer industry was run by the same muppets who run the wine racket.

if only the boutique and craft breweries had the same tax breaks and incentives as wineries we could all enjoy good quality Australian beers at less than imported prices

The best wine i've ever had was free, some homebrew vino from ne vic
made by Italians, nice - not their usual watered down ****.

Friends of the family have a vinyard / winery in western vic... they make some very nice sparkling red, good stuff on a hot day - no preservitaves, which is good. Most wine gives me a headache before the hangover

good thing about drinking chateau cardboard is when you have finished your wine you can blow up the bag with air and use it as a pillow

Yes I really enjoy stout and i agree small boutique breweries should have tax breaks .
in my work i drink /taste a few preservative free wines and i agree they are generally good .a distinct style
another cheapish drink i enjoy in hot or cold weather is green ginger wine (stonies) and coke/cola + ice in summer

A carton of beer lasts me about a year.

A dozen bottles of red wine lasts about two weeks or so.

A friend came around last week so I gave him a 6-pack from the carton as I'll never get around to drinking it. The carton's been sitting on the back step for months (in the shade). Well, not quite correct - a couple of bottles are in the fridge, another couple in the wine fridge, and a couple of 6-packs are still in the carton.
