Ditto, although they weren't Sals, they were D60's, but same-same.

At work we always use a spreader to remove the centre, (not saying they don't come out without it, it just makes it easyer)
Sounds like something is wrong, might have been setup wrong with way to many shims or something, does it have any back lash??
Our spreader at work is an ARB one, and will suit pretty mush all the dana style diffs, so if you can get hold of one of these you should be in buisness, they are meant to be hard to remove but not as hard as this one sounds.....

I wonder how they are assembled when new, does the crown wheel and pinion fit in the cetre before the axle tubes are put in place, if that was so could the axle tubes be fitted into the centre housing a mm to far each side. Just wondering
