Mongrel.
I sometimes wonder how coppers can do their job.
I hope the cops recover well and get all the support they need. Who knows what post trauma affects there will be.
Police shot during Adelaide siege - ABC Adelaide - Australian Broadcasting Corporation
the police, one a constable and the other a probationary constable are in hospital now, the "probo" has the worse injuries including facial and shoulder injuries believed to include pellets and shrapnel.
these police were called to a disturbance call at the address, i believe it was called in as a domestic dispute but it is believed the call was a "lure" to bring Police to the shooter....
Both injured officers, from what Ive been told, took cover, called for assistance BUT KEPT COVERING THE HOUSE TO CONTAIN THE OFFENDER THEY DID NOT LEAVE THE AREA until others had it secured and the seige continued as they were evacuated...
This stopped the potential for the offender to have walked out of the house and down the street shooting whom ever he wanted etc...."& making his mark"
Previous threads about police incl a shooting thread a year or two ago are quite animated when an offender is shot by Police.... usually the silence here (in society) when one of the thin blue line is shot is deafening.
cheers

Not a job I'd want... Well maybe a traffic cop
Pity they wont spend the $0.10 and save the taxpayers some future money though.
It continues to amaze me how scum some people really are.
I think only by the naive and newspapers.
Two officers who are employed by US the taxpayers who were shot and didn’t back out should at least receive a gong. The next question would be how the cops treat there own, these two officers may no longer be able to continue front line duties. it must be dam hard to walk up to a door when the last door exploded shot gun pellets in your face and who could honestly blame them for that, what about there wife’s mothers and other family members who will sit at home while there partner or son it doing there job as a target for any nutter out there in the name of public safety.
I didn’t here the news this morning on the radio but was told about it by 2 clients, both of whom work in retail, both were a bit shocked. i was working northern suburbs
As Tombie says...."Not a job I want"... it continues to amaze me how many people in society have "attitude". Doing the right thing is at the bottom of their agenda, it beats me how anybody wants to be a cop and put up with "crap" all the time!!!!![]()
If they had returned fire and hit him all we would hear about is how the police should learn to deal with mental health and emotional people better than shoting them, hope they recover with no problems![]()
Up here near Newcastle recently there was a riot at a pub at Rutherford, two constables were attacked and put into hospital and police had to use capsicum spray and the tazer to quell the riot. Arrested were two men aged 28 and 31 and get this................a 54 year old women. I find it hard to grasp that somebody of that age would be involved in something like this but you hear about it more and more now!!!!Police are just punching bags for the lowlife's in society who no longer have any repect for the law!!

Good post Digger...hopefully they will survive the physical injuries. As for being looked after by their superiors, i just hope it gets done better in SA than it does in NSW...
Similar situation occurred back in the 80's in Victoria when Steve Tynan and Damian Eyres were called out to "recover" a stolen vehicle, only to be murdered on scene.
Those in the job country wide would know of the danger when responding to a domestic. Get well soon brothers.
Unfortunatly its a general thing today that police are fair game backed up by some magistrates look at the ruling a couple of weeks ago you can call a police man/woman any and get away with itI know names dont hurt to much but they should be able to use the charge when it is nessasary to throw the book at some one who deserves it

Well, there is a certain magistrate in NSW who seems to be totally anti-police.
