What? Qld doesn't allow, where signposted, left turn on red after stopping?
I thought we'd moved to a standardised set of national road rules.
Know exactly how you feel. I got cleaned up by a Pakistani who went thru a stop sign from a side road onto a 4 lane main road.
Claimed he didn't see the STOP signs..... HTF do you not realise that your about to enter a 4 lane main effin' road?????
7 weeks traction, 5 weeks wheelchair, 3 months learning to walk again.... And he wasn't even fined...:twisted::twisted:
And I hope they never introduce them.
Near where I lived in NSW there were two T intersections with these brain dead signs on them and the amount of accidents that occurred because the retards turning from the leg of the T just assumed it mean you could turn at any time regardless of vehicles, with the green light, coming along the main road.
I was back that way about two years ago and noticed one of the intersections no longer had the signs.
There is hope for us in QLD!
I think if the rule to turn left on red was allowed nationally, unless otherwies signposted, drivers would soon learn.
It works in the USA with far more cars.
It's not everywhere here as it depends on how the intersection is built, but quite a few allow to turn left from a separate slip lane as a Giveway.
Some traffic lights will have a green left arrow synced to traffic flow.
Cheers
Andrew
Got to agree, turn left on red isn't really a clever idea as people just wouldn't stop.
No, the darwin award goes to the guy who had a green light but after deciding larte to turn left swung wide to the right first and crossed the line on the side of the intersection and got snapped for running the red light on that side.
All pretty stupid, i woud guess that alot of them would be stolen cars, but some are very funny.
A lot of light controlled intersections have signs,"Left Turn Anytime With Care" or there is an arrow light at the intersection, they are only major multi laners from memory.
