No I'm not kidding.
Just do some research about Thatcher!
Had her reforms not been implemented, the U.K. today would be in a state not dissimilar to Greece and Spain needing to be bailed out by the EU.
Even some of her most vocal critics like Tom Robinson say "
Nonetheless it's an uncomfortable fact, even for those of us who violently disagreed with her, that Britain is overall a more vibrant and prosperous society than in 1979, even if its inequalities are greater. "

>>>>>>>she gave the newly unemployed credit cards !!!
The country is not that far off being on a par with Greece, had it not been due to the british paranoia of giving up sovereignty of it's currency I reckon it would have it the dirt like the other two.
Even in polls including Thatcher, Blair and Brown where respondents were asked "which politician at the height of their powers would you chose to be prime minister" Thatcher was ahead of her closest rival (Blair) by 35% (20:27)
Voters prefer Thatcher and Blair to Brown, poll finds | Politics | guardian.co.uk
