I found the same thing from Ashcrofts when I got my CDL lever..
They answered my e-mail with-in 15mins and I ordered the lever on the Mon night and it arrived in Darwin fri morn...

Bettter than some in Aust that didnt even bother to reply to my emails..

    Would reccommend them to anyone.

I regularly get stock from New York in less time than it takes Australia Post to send it on to a customer in WA.

Another gripe is AP's parcel rates. Last week I sent a small parcel from Brisbane to Grafton, $12. It came air-mail from the US for US$9.95.

Couple of years ago I sent a P&N BSW/BSF tap and die set to Moree. I was stunned by the charge. I forget the amount but I worked it out on tonnage rate (I once had trucks) at $12,000 per tonne.

I posted a Post Card home to Mum from Ayers Rock, drove to Katherine had a week there then drove home and beat the letter by 4 days!
    AP are an embarrassment.

Yes but that was std mail, it takes that long for the process and road transport.
I send things Express post satchels and it seems to get all over Australia the next day. pretty good when you can send a 5kg parcel in a satchel from Melb to Darwin, or MT. Isa for the same prices as sending it around the corner for $19.00. It depends on what way you post things.
Send a parcel from the UK and use Ship and see how long it takes.

A few years ago I was in the Landrover Supermarket in Liverpool England. They showed me the postage rates they use for air freight and for surface mail. Air was so far in front price wise, it wasn't funny.
