Totally understand, my 94 disco is starting to look like grandads axe - not much original left, but I wouldn't get rid of it. We are selling the 10 year newer Prado to downsize and buying a city car. The landy has nowhere near the level of finesse of the Prado but selling the landy didn't even enter the conversation

I know exactly what you mean. My wife has a current model Subaru Forester.

If we go anywhere and I'm driving, I'll take the Rangie. I do not enjoy driving the Subaru.

Is there a Japanese car with soul??

At any rate Tony, you HAVE TO BRING the Rangie as theres 4wd tracks you need to explore

Oh my god, another thread about this "soul" notion. These are all manifestations in one's own head!

My only other vehicles that have a soul to me were my 3 Cortina GT.
I have before a 109 Stage 1 (10seater) a Disco, a Rangie and now a Tdi Defe.
The best touring car ever was the Rangie and the "matador" was the 109
For some reason all the drivers used to look at the 109 with respect on the intersections, no so much the Defe.
May be was the bull bar with the gun box attached on it

Dunno,I've spent the last three days in a cruiser wagon and I still can't see what people see in them,.There is nothing exciting about holidaying in a bland,dull vehicle,you need something with the ''it'' factor. Pat
