In 1970 the Australian Road Toll was 3798! Or about 17 people per 100000 of population.
In 2015 the Australian Road Toll was 1209. Or about 6 people per 100000 of population.
1209 is still way to many but I was staggered by the reduction in deaths. There are more people, more cars, more roads & definitely more Idiots yet the Road Toll has dropped by around 60% in 45 years (have I worked that out correctly?).
But, still be careful out there, that's 1209 people that won't be having Christmas this year!
