imho htc legend vs iphone = no contest, sorry.

had them both, wont be buying a htc until they get a feature set to rival the iphone.

itunes is bad enough, the windows sync foibles are even worse.

the only plus is being able to store files on it imho.

My Nexus One should be here on Thursday. Thought about the iPhone 4 but the N1 is $200 cheaper and by all accounts a damn good phone.

Well i am exceptionally happy with my first gen 3G iPhone, in fact using it right now. I use the apps more than i use it as a phone!!
The current v4 software seems to be a little mem hungry and it has a few hesitations bit a memory app clears that.
Im out of contract end of the year so will watch the i4 and maybe wait till the updated model comes out.
I do want to look at Android just to keep abreast of things....
    Cheers

My contract on my iPhone 3G with Telstra finishes tomorrow...good timing if you ask me! I've had a very good run with my iPhone 3G - and it's had a hard two years as I have a rather active lifestyle, but is still in good condition as it's lived in hard cases. Will be getting the iPhone 4 with Telstra as the carrier again...very happy to see the plans being offered this time are actually good value!

I've always loved Apple products, I've had an iMac, iBook, MacBook & about 5 iPhones (my gf has had more :s), but I've finally had it with the iPhone. The day it was originally released in Aus as the 3G - 2 years ago - I queued at Optus and bought one. It was awesome. Since, though, I've been troubled with a list of problems that is frankly too long to be a coincidence. The number of times myself or my girlfriend have had to go back to the Apple store to get a (free) replacement within a week or so of receiving the last replacement is appalling. Silence switches not working properly, speakers broken, cracking sides along the bezel (more than once), and - most importantly - an operating system that still has not managed to remove so much glitchiness. It's not bad when it works, but if my new ones get through the first few weeks, they end up breaking down after 4 or 5 months.

I'm over it completely - the apps are cool and it is a very, very sexy phone, but the next time I need a new one I'm going to try something else. Somebody put up a great video on this sight a few days ago comparing the Evo (I think) to the iPhone - it was spot on. Unfortunately we won't be getting it

It's why I would never, never buy an iPad. I went into Best Buy and played with one for 10 minutes - it was glitchy, the iPod functioned terribly and to top it off after 10 minutes it completely froze. I was the biggest Apple fan but their products completely irritate me now. Still love my iMac though

By the way - I've looked at the issue as objectively as possible and I am tending toward thinking that the iPhone 4 antenna issue is a bigger issue than Apple or it's customers want to acknowledge. It's not the end of the world - the press get a little excited - but there is definitely merit to the criticisms that have been levelled at it. I don't want to get carried away, but the choice of design over functionality is something I can easily see Jobs & Ive making without hesitation. End Rant!

I understand why people would want one (hell, I still want another ), and my one piece of advice to those of you deciding is to not discount the value of Telstra's network. You will be mighty peeved if you take your Optus-serviced iPhone three metres away from a cafe, because it won't work. My current iPhone is with Telstra, and it is worth what you pay them (constant 3G coverage almost everywhere, within reason).

    Good luck!

I'm waiting until September, or there abouts, when Apple are dropping their "fix" of a free cover. 'Cos, according to rumours - that's when the fully operational, fixed, 2nd version of iPhone 4 is coming out!

I wasnt suggesting the HTC was better its just different.. i like the design, the single peice aluminium chassis.. and android is as open as.. it suits me..

Not quite sure what you mean about the windows sync? it uses HTC's software for that.. not pretty in the slightest.. but does kinda work. I tend to sync everything online anyway.. as the gmail account we have has been running for years.. everything but the contacts was easy as.. (contacts shoud be but google in their same as apple arrogance wont address some simple issues)

I also like the fact that i got the phone free on a $39 a month contract.. with 500mb data included.. that aint gonna happen with any iphone....

The apps arent up to the iphone.. yet.. but its getting there and getting there quickly.. android 2.2 again will help as it supports running apps from the sd card, meaning people can run more and bigger apps.

At the end of the day.. if the IP4 suits what you need and do.. great.. bit like 4wds really aint they

Have had an iPhone 4 for a few weeks now. Never had an iPhone before however have not had any problems. Am left handed yet have not had any calls drop out as the media claims. Replaced phone was a Motorola V3 that was about 7years old.
