been serious, the shop i was at, said that they have been down on iPhone 4, lot more people after the 3gs,

the only things i dont like about it,, is the speaker on the back isn't loud enough and i think id be pushing for 2 fulldays of use on one charge,
I have the other model, i reckon its great, Stacey has the Desire model and she reckons its the ducks guts aswell. Apple can keep their I-Phone4

Well i found out just how tought iphone 4g's are.... i will post some "carnage shots" later and a better explaination... luckily its my work phone not my personal one that got damaged,, ive had 2 3g's for 2 years and never broken them but in the end it probobly just comes down to bad luck. I have ordered a replacement and will be sending this one off for new glass - 140 dollar repair which isnt to bad considering i thought it would be unrepairable.

quicker? you have to be having yourself on, surely...

i tried a desire for several hours and at most things it was about the same speed as my technicians iphone 3gs and they are quite a bit slower than a 4.

user friendly? in a series iii kind of way, maybe

lot more customizable, sorry wrong again...

cheaper, hey you got one right!

and the signal strength at home was less than the iphones

got mine with 2 year warranty $38, 0 upfront, 1.3g data a month on a $65 plan with free calls between my multiple mobiles, all of which unused credit (they are on $45 plans) falls on to mine which is used the most..

Quite by accident I was passing through the middle of Sydney at 6am on the Friday the iPhone 4 came out in Australia... Was actually on my way to meet up with friends for a weekend of 4wding inland from Nowra...anyways, drove past a Telstra shop and couldn't resist the chance to get one early! My contract on my iPhone 3G had finished the day before, so worked out perfectly.

After almost 3 weeks with the phone I can say it's the best phone I've had. Leaves the 3G for dead. Also reception with the iPhone 4 isn't an issue - it was actually a lot better than my iPhone 3G. After the weekend at Nowra I camped in the High Country, drove down to Cann River in East Gippsland then back up home to Noosa via Dubbo, Lightning Ridge and St George - 4,800+Km's all up and reception was the best I've had in the bush...plus battery life is great too.

Is it the perfect phone? No, there's things I don't like about it...but it sure as hell beats anything else out on the market!

BTW, for the other Desire owners, the latest Android 2.2 is considerably faster than 2.1. There are also some great new features .

How did you go on the repair and who did it? We just got two new iPhone 4's and within a week my wife dropped hers. Still works, but the screen is cracked top to bottom. Did not think it could be repaired.

I am not a techie and this is the first apple product I have owned...LOVE IT! Best thing I have bought in a long time. I just got my wife a HTC Legend which is a fantastic bit of kit also.

Anyone looking at topo 4wd mapping for theirs - such as Memory Map or Ozieexplorer when the app finally comes out...or is it better to go HEMA Nav' or Garmin etc as a stand alone unit?

    Cheers
