wow a fair bit of bitchyness.
i think you lot need to get over yourselves and stop feeling like the world owes you something. it's always the same people who for some unknown reason they they are better than others because they own a landrover, and the reason i spend less and less time on this site.
i personally don't usually buy the mag, but see it regulary and there is a fair amount of landrovers featured - especially considering how they are outnumbered in terms of ownership.
It's a 4wd mag and some of us are into 4wding so get over it - jealous ******!
Yep, I used to teach the editor. A really nice fellow and a he grew up in a Landy owning household.
Hi Taff, I don't suppose you saw the cheap shot/goading that BMKal's original quote contained? If the mag wants to feature Landies, then why do they come across with a depreciative agenda from the start?
Sorry to hurt your feelings taff but very few LR's are modded up like Jap vehicles because they don't need to,I don't think the world owes me a favour either,I've worked for everything I own.I'm not interested in going in the mag because I'm not interested in spending 80 grand on a vehicle and telling everyone how tough it is even though it needed another 20 grand replacing half of it.If you like my penis is bigger than your penis competitions go for it mate but most on here could not be bothered. Pat
just a thought tho',
at least they are giving the opportunity to put stuff in.
I think there are very few defenders that are "tricked up" compared to other models but there was also the ask for vehicles fitted out for camping or specific jobs etc...
Id love to see a "then and now" article...
then (first landy 4wd, first toyota 4wd, first nissan 4wd etc)
and lets see
*- original prices
*-how many of each still about...
*-what accessories were avail (did toyota have a mower accessory!?)
*-other uses (exploring- ambulances -police - army -mining -fire etcetc)
and now...
current models etc and prices...
I dont know if Land Rovers would win but I think theyd be very very high in the scale and it would introduce some interesting other vehicles (the modified ones for purpose..)
last but not least...dont shoot the messenger... theyve asked -maybe with a bait attached to try and get people to respond- but they have asked..... so can we whinge when we dont put any in and then see no land rovers in the pages???
cheers
digger
I'm not bitching, the world owes me nothing and I'm not a jealous *****. I'm no better or worse than the person standing next to me, nor do I feel superior because I drive a Land Rover. Actually, it's more unreliable than anything to come out of Japan I would wager, but it's what i like. It's just a ****ing car FFS. I've never bagged out a Nissan driver, a Toyota driver etc and never will. If what a person drives is what they want, no dramas. If your truck is a penis extension, there are operations that can help you. But statements like "With so many rumours flying around the office recently regarding whether or not Landies are tough enough to take on Oz, we want you guys to prove to all the unbelievers that Euro-built trucks are the cream of the crop!" it makes you realise what feeble minded people they are. Tongue in cheek or not.
I couldn't give a fig whether they put land rovers in it or not. I used to read the mag, but now it is just one big adfest with regurgitated articles and comparos.
Jeez, now isn't this the serious thread! :D
