How many of you have actually met any of the guys who work for the magazine.

Maybe the mag is a bit biased, but at least a few of us are trying to increase the profile of LR's in the mags, rather than having a row on the internet, about how great there LR is compared to anything else.

I think they do a pretty decent job tbh. If you want a LR are the best mag, by one of the generic LR mags...

I have met them, and, I stand by my opinion. Yes, opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Go stand outside their office at Silverwater and see all their "locked and lifted" Nissans and Toyotas.

There is no "row"...opinions, yes, row no. Do people really think having an article and a few pics of Land Rovers in a generic 4WD magazine is going to raise the marques profile? I doubt it will. It ends up in a pile with all the other mags, or on a doctor's surgery table. If they want to raise the profile, write to LRA and tell them to up their advertising budget or get to more car shows etc

It's like Holden vs Ford...you plumb for one or the other. Whether you are a dyed in the wool Landy/Nissan/Toyo/Lada Niva driver...I don't give a rat's arse. As long as you are out there using it for the purpose for which it was intended. All the other stuff is eyewash and comments such as those quoted by BM Kal from the magazine's staff in the original post do nothing to stop the brand bashing.

I think some of you must be a tad paranoid and reading to much into this. They asked for landy to feature,, so what, Not all the cars that appear in the mag have 10in lift and 44in tyres..... not all of them are stupidly modified, and not all of them are jap crap. Ive seen disco's and 110s in there with just mild mods (2-3in lift 32-33in tyres)

Some of us like to tinker with our trucks and have a bit of fun with them, some like to spend stupid ammounts of there trucks and take it to another level, so what, no need to have a go at them for doing what they enjoy, just because they choose not to drive a stock land rover doesnt mean anything, its there choice.

Once my county is done i will happily put in there if they want it,,, I have no problem with the magazine or there view on land rovers.

Same. The Disco 2 has been in Overlander and 4WDAction and I was happy to do it because people are/were interested and its a bit of fun to spend a day out with them. I was also pleased to have put together a vehicle that was of a good enough standard. Likewise I have a ute which they have expressed interest in writing about and I would be happy again because people are interested in it, its a fun day out and I get some really cool pics from the photographer.

There used to be whinging and bitching because the mags were only interested in Nissotas and then they increased the number of Landys in them. Now when they ask if anybody is up for cars in mags all they get in response is that I know my 4WD is the greatest and I don't need to prove anything because I use a cloth tape measure to size up my manliness and all magazines suck. Go figure. Hopefully the editors get some participants and some good article out for us all to read rather than finding a Jeep, a Lada or a Nissota instead.

The shoot with Michael Ellem for the D1 was great fun... And a good weekender trip.

The Defender was photographed after Blknights Dad had taken ownership and I believe he enjoyed it too..

Do I love having recognition for my effort - Damn right!!!!

If they ever come down here for a photo trip, I'll be in it. Have to clean up the interior a bit first, but happy to have them see the Rangie for what it was built for. Long trip Touring and capable off roading.

I'm not too photogenic though, so will make sure I remain scarce at shutter time....


Might just send them an email anyway Stooge, Timaus13, 2_door and a few others may be interested too???
