LC 200 and the oil problem, 79 with the wider front track, and thats the ones they i hear 3rd hand, word of mouth. How many toyota farmer owners have gone to nissan since the intro of the V8 diesel. I know of only one but, im sure there is more. LC still have the leaf spring in the 21 century, nissan with a gutless 4.2 TD and problematic 3.0L. I was, for one race, a navi in a big nissan ute and the amount of work (around $15g) just to the engine and it only came out with 125rwkw. What the? I think i could do that with a VNT turbo, larger IC, remap and exhaust, and increased boost on a TD5, but i wouldnt race the car in something like OC or ironman challenge. the electric just might let it down......
This mag chip or not on the shoulder, it was just a bait to see if we (LR owners) will respond to get in the mag. Lets face it, we arent, like some have said, into penis extensions, but we have good 4x4'S, for camping and touring. LR owners arent into showing off our 4x4, and we arent the best selling 4x4 in the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, AUSTRALIA. I say get into the mag, show the rest of the 4wd community they are good cars. Maybe more people will buy them, after all LR dosnt advertise well.
Who cares if your car isnt ready, mine wasnt and I did it. They just wont photograph that part. All i hope is someone sees my car and thinks, "I want one like that". They go buy one, becomes more popular, blah blah blah....
Hey and Roothy grew up in a LR family.
my 2 cents worth.
