I'm pretty positive you can't look at cars for sale if you aren't logged in.

Sounds like a possible scam to me though. I don't know anyone who would pay through paypal and are Aussie. Too much of a hassle and too many fees as opposed to a bank transfer.

Pity you can't do something like this to get back at them.

That's what I thought so I've tentatively replied saying I don't know how to use pay pal...which is mostly true as I've only used it twice to purchase products.

Look. They have said it's a scam. Why do you want to proceed? Is it because you still think they might be honest traders? Keep yourself safe.

Seriously it is big scam and hits people all over the world. Don't even think about answering the emails. Just hit delete.

Well I hardly think replying to an e-mail is proceeding, I replied straight away and then re-read and thought about the e-mail and realised that it's most probably a scam but am intereted in how they viewed the ad without being a user (I can't without logging on). If the e-mail is a user on AULRO and ths is a scam it would be worthwhile finding out who they are and having the account deleted if that's possible.
The only thng I'm putting at risk is my free e-mail account which gets flooded with spam everyday as it is (which is the fault of friends who don't understand how to use BCC).

Sounding pretty suspicious to me. Anyone else recieved a similar e-mail?
Also can you view cars for sale without an account?
Got the same almost word for word from Debby_002@yahoo.com. Had one earlier to but the difference is the emails don't come via AULRO. The subject heading for the email is simmilar enough to make it seem that way. Anyone can join AULRO. Have the same problems with gumtree, Have a $15000 vehicle someone was happy to buy via paypal and arrange shipping. If it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't....would you buy something wthout at least talking to the seller or haggling a price....no way. I've heard they get youre email address when you answer to sell to other scammers/spammers simply by asking for photo's.

I'd be reporting the email or PM and if the admins can identify the user and they are a member they'll be banned.

If you have an email address of the scammer report it to ScamWatch Report a scam

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
