Queenslanders must be a very happy and sociable mob because I get lots of waves and some people yell out a g'day as they pass (least thats what it sounds like over the rattles and engine noise). I even get the enthusiastic single finger salute by young tradies hanging out the window. It will be a shame when they finish the Ipswich motorway and these happy souls are able to go faster than the Defender.:p
That must be a northern thing. When I drove up the Stuart Highway everybody waved at me. Didn't matter what car they were in.Quote:

Two of the best:
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere between Perth and Exmouth an older gent in another SIII coming the other way saw me coming about a mile away and started flashing his lights. By the time we were passing each other he was half out the window waving both arms and yelling greetings. Musn't see too many in those parts anymore.
The other one was rolling down the cafe stip in Freo when another (very nice) SIII passed with his horn going and again leaning out the window. I reckon we could have high-fived if we'd been so inclined.
I love it, and it's what keeps me coming back to my Landy when she's been giving me curry.
"The Landy Wave" was one of the best things about driving my old Rangie around, my misses used to get sick of me waving at other Rangies! :)
lardy was is a white one with canvas back? heap of stickers on its rear door? if so i have never got a wave off the bugger...
the owner of STYX the svx round joondalup way was hard enough to get a wave from but i got one eventually.. the white 130...he is an uncrackable nut!

I waved at a couple of disco's today. They waved back.
They weren't strangers though. They knew me.
There were a lot of Disco's out on the road today.
