Wow !!!!
That is some very impressive work. :o
My deceased father in law worked for 35 years at GMH in Elizabeth - ended up as leading hand in the upholstery section. During his time there, he also learned some good panel beating skills.
Years ago, I had tread come off the right rear wheel of my 2 door Rangie, and it managed to fold the rear section of the guard, together with mudflap bracket etc up under the car and turn it into a mess. Everything I tried made it even more of a mess.
I was visiting him in Adelaide once, and he offered to panel beat it out for me in exchange for me doing the brakes on his Torana (I used to be a brake mechanic in a past life). Well, it only took him a day - I remember he used heat to "shrink" the damaged aluminium back into shape - and at the end of it all, you could not see where it had ever been damaged. He did end up making up a new bracket for the mudflap - the old one was beyond repair. What he did was far beyond anything that I would ever have the skills to do.
Pales by comparison with that Austin 7 though - that is a work of art. :D
I am in awe of engineering metology skills such as that hat's off and all that,
I'm a member on here Metal Meet Forums - Powered by vBulletin but my sheet metal skills extend to making the odd air con plenum or box. :D
