cute puppy! whats her name?![]()
Ahh,forgot to mention. She has been called "Dixy".She is now 14 weeks old & up to all those puppy tricks.Won't stay still enough to get a decent pic.
Did you buy the optional brain cell?
Spaniel's don't come with one by default and its an aftermarket accessory
Jokes aside they are a wonderful dog.

Springer's are supposed to be the smarter of the Spaniels, suppose we will have to wait & see
They use them here at the dog squad, searching for drugs, etc.
She is way smarter than our Sharpie,he definitely missed out on the option
I originally wanted a GSP,as i have had one before,& my parents used to breed them but SWMBO wanted something smaller,& a dog that can come inside,we decided this was a good compromise.
We've had a Welsh Springer in the past. Great dogs but can suffer a bit from eye issues with the loose skin around their eyelids allowing the eyelid to roll down into the eye where the hair irritates the eye.
We ended up getting a surgical nip and tuck done to her eyelids and it made a huge difference. Should have done it years earlier.
Dixy looks like an English Springer to me. Not sure if they have the same issue, but something to watch out for.
Steve
GSP all the way, we love ours and they are a great companions.

She is an English springer as you guessed,Welsh springers seem to be rarer, but i believe the breeds are very similar.
Sharpei's also often need that nip & tuck around the eye's,although our's didn't.Our's went deaf with age,he is about 10.
I grew up with them, they are fantastic dogs.We had a bitch that could catch hares. Her trick was catch one, crawl under a bed in whatever bedroom she could get to,& eat the whole thing, only leaving the ears. She was a beautiful dog & had quite a few litters of pups.
And yes we did feed her,she just had a liking of fresh hare.
