    Never Forget

9 years ago saw one of the bravest acts ever performed. Hundreds and hundreds of Emergency Workers poured into two towers hit by terrorists to attempt the rescue of thousands of people.

When the Towers came down 343 Firefighters did not make it out

Today I remember my Brothers who did not survive that terrible event

"No greater love is there than this, than to lay down one's life for one's friends."

When I'm called to duty God
    wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
    whatever be its age

Help me to embrace a little child
    before it is too late
or save an older person from
    the horror of that fate

    Enable me to be alert
    to hear the weakest shout
    and quickly and efficiently
    to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
    to guard my neighbor and
    protect his property

And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
    bless with your protecting hand
    my children and my wife.

I was on a night shift (ambulance) that night and can still remember the general concensus of our colleagues would have been to take off the shirt and run the other way if put in the same situation.

Incredibly brave to do what they did and to die in such a horrible way. The sooner old osama gets taken out the victims of that day will rest easier.

    Will never forget.

One of the best doco's on it is the french one called 9/11. It was supposed to be about 2 rooki fire fighters they were following but ended up being about what happened that day. Worth the watch for those who didn't see what happened that day.

I, like a lot of other people, dont think I will ever forget the events of that day, or what I was doing when I heard the news.

The towers coming down were the most dramatic thing that I think I have ever seen.

Please also dont forget the passengers & crew on the other 2 airliners. One slammed into the Pentagon & another was brought down in a paddock.

All of the emergency workers that attended these incidents are always in my thoughts, as well as the passengers & crews of the aircraft.

May they all rest in peace.

I know how bad it feels to lose fellow firemen, I know they will never be forgotten. I still find it hard to watch those towers coming down knowing they were inside doing their job.

Same here from me....343 and a lot of them were senior officers,so much so that the NYFD had to bolster ranks to maintain adequate fire protection for one of the largest cities in the world.Vale to the brave.
