And another neighbour calling for help.

A few days ago I reported helping my next door neighbour extricate his Patrol. Well, things are getting pretty damp round here, and today it was the neighbour on the other side (who is my sister). A phone call "Can you come and give us a hand - bring a chain and a shovel", followed by directions, including "keep moving where you can see we started to sink on the way out". No problems, and pulled them out without drama, although the ground started to pull in a few places. This one was on the track, on level high ground.

And there is more rain forecast tonight and tomorrow!

The worst thing about it (apart from the fact that I forgot my camera - rushing to get there before the rain started) was that I had just spent several hours getting the mud from under the 2a in preparation for servicing it and replacing a damaged mudguard.

It certainly is a bit doughy in the weeds at the moment.

I was expecting to have to pull a few out of our road the other week, John. Luckily, everyone was getting through okay...

The only 2WD I saw get past our place was a battered old Rodeo with 3 blokes in the back to get the weight over the rear wheels. They were driving like a bat out of hell too and all over the road. Later that afternoon I could see a big set of gouges on the shoulder where they had gone a bit wide and got stuck. The tractor prints gave a good idea as to how they got the rest of the way... at least it would have forced them to slow down!

    Stupid farm boys.
