    First time MAXTRAX user

    Okay,
So I didn’t let the pressures down… so I wanted to get bogged…so I found the softest sand I could… so I could try out my new presents (thanks kids). The Maxtrax got me out with no problems at all.

As you see out of the soft sand back into the soft sand, so I got to use them twice. Then 30 mins later we used them on another car who got stuck!

Check out the 10sec vid -

And the Rhino is on. Now for the bull bar! ECB I think.

Very happy. Even if my son did call it an "epic fail cos it got bogged a second time"

Mate - please dont do that in public in an LR! I mean really! I went to Straddie with a mate at easter that went through such stuff with a 2wd territory...

    Cheers

PS. (Head down) "my name is Camoo...(head rises slowly to engage others in the room) and I am a Maxtrax user....

    PPS. Nice maxtrax

You have no idea how long it took us to find a deserted patch of beach to do this! Each weekend I am testing out the LR a little more.

My name is Camoo (head lowered again).... and I admit to many things.... and all because I yearn to be back at Port Warrender and the Mitchell....

    "You buried them mate".

Yeah they do tend to get lost under the sand. The trick is to mark the spot, or tie some coloured rope to them.

I just cannot believe their price though when some carpet pieces or shade cloth works nearly as well.

In my D1 I used the removable carpet mats and a load space mat from inside the car after a little digging, usually worked pretty well.

But if the Trax are free - well why not .

Great to see and the only way to learn to use your recovery gear. Its the way we do it.
Often used to get people comment, but we would sometimes go in 2wd to get bogged or centre diff disengaged. Not in track or traffic areas but normally in out of the way areas.
    Only way to learn.

I find a good way to test out all your recovery kit is go 4wding with the extended family. Guaranteed there's always someone who knows more than you and will get their car stuck

I've got a pair of them too. Used once so far and I swear by them. Quick, convenient and idiot proof (So far).

good to see, i wish i had pulled my hand winch out of the bag and used it 3 years ago when I bought it instead of learning in the dark at 2am in the morning in the rain in the wattagans 3 weeks ago

I can see that they are a good thing and as you demonstrated they appear to work well, but I agree with the comment above about the price. Alot of money for 2 lengths of spikey plastic.

Over the last 25 years I reckon I have used carpet, boxes, sticks, leaves, rubber, bits of wood and anything else that was within a half k walk of being bogged. The maxtrax made it very simply.

I have wanted some for years but I have never thought of paying for them myself.... My kids new this and fantastically put in together to get them for me.....
