the way she made it sound was that voting was still being tallied right up until she announced the winner and the tallies were counted wrong or something.

There was an eviction on Big Brother one year where a person was kicked out based on the voting only to be let back in a few days later cause the computers that tally the SMS and phone voting made a mistake.
