    TD5 Rebuild

    Hi Mongo.

Well I have 360 000 km on mine and not looking for a rebuild yet (fingers crossed) and have owned it since new (1999). Oils and filters every 10k.

Head gaskets and oil filter leaks (cannot seem to tighten them enough) are the only engine problems I have had. My wife and I were discussing the other day that if an engine rebuild is required then may as well throw in an auto. This should then see us out till we run out of dino diesel.

Have thought of trading mine a few times but keep coming back to it does the job I want it to do - day in day out!

    Regards,

    Toad.

I dont think the 94 model came with a TD5, it would be a TDi,

Either one should give you plenty more KM's as lonmg as they have been regularly serviced and not overheated...

Tdi will need timing Belt every 80-100,000kms.

    Cheers Ean

my 300Tdi was powering on at 270000km when i missed a heater core leak and cooked it, would have gone to 400000km easy, regular oil changes and good maintenance goes along way.

My injectors and glow plugs were buggered though, thats something you may need to consider, can do the lot for about $600. matt
