tyre prices! Another Aussie dollar excuse?

Tyre prices went through the roof when the aussie dollar went down, but seem to have stayed up even as we approach parity
My locals seem to all have similar prices, and most net deals I have found are ballpark, and not worth the drive to get.
Slunnie mentioned Tire Search Results and prices seem feasable, but I add our postcode and it isn't accepted as it isn't a 'zipcode'
Anyone else frustrated by prices at the moment, or have you found places passing on the savings?
    I'm after 33/12.5/15s, btw.
    Cheers

Things like tyres are sold by wholesalers/distributors. I would expect that they have to clear current stocks and import more before they can buy them at a lower price. It would probably be worthwhile importing your own tyres atm.

Fuel price in AU is linked to the singapore crude price AFAIK.

How does one import one's own tyres? I'd be very interested.

Get hold of the distributors in the US and other countries and just bring them in.

    "US $200.00 for quantity 4
