First sold and registered in Australia in '96.

The MY dates run pretty much the same as the Fiscal year ie, july 2010 - June 2011 is MY11. Anything built within this date will carry that year even though its actual build date in the VIN ID plate is 2010.
Disregard the Australian compliance plate date on imported vehicles as there maybe a few months difference between manufacture and Aust delivery. All this shows is the month it was designated and Australian approved vehicle

I myself have a MY04 D2a built in 03 and first registered in 04. Duh.
