G'day All, Has anyone else seen 2 110's both 5 door jobs, White with roof rack & Dark Green one with unusual body design behind rear doors, I passed them today as I was driving home in 'Chloe' pictured below

they flashed their lights and I waved of course, has anyone else come across them, obviously they are on a round the world trip? cheers Dennis
ps They were in the Lower Hunter Valley, NSW when I saw them today Sunday 17th Oct 2010,,.

    Hi Dennis,

I'm pretty sure that would be Roger and Anita plus their friends from Germany. Touring Oz for 12 months - see their website at Weltreise 2010
You may need to use the 'translate' button but quite an interesting website detailing setting up the vehicles etc. The dark green one is a 130 similar to Mulgo's (Best in Show at Cooma 2008)

Here's a little from their website and unless they've changed their minds, they are heading north first (wrong time of year though IMHO) so maybe AULRO members could keep an eye out for them and say G'day

    World Tour 2010

On 02 August 2010 it was called go-ahead for the team Gaucho. With a cargo ship, she cruises across the oceans to Australia, where they are now waiting for the team Pajarito, which at 02 October 2010 arriving in Sydney.
Also on board are our two Land Rover "Rebelde" and "Nesito" which will also arrive in early October 2010 in Down Under. As soon as the NWW team is reunited complete, here starts the adventure Australia 2010-2011.
The itinerary of the two teams can be found under the heading Route. We appreciate it very much if you are in our Travel reports and Photo Galleries rummage.

Here's a couple of photos that I've managed to copy from their website. The green one is started out as a 130 Tdi crew cab ute and was converted to the full 5 door wagon with lift up roof and the white one is a 110 Td5 with lift up coof conversion.

Not very good copies unfortunately but if you go to their website you can get the full story of the vehicle preparation etc.

    G´day everyone!

Thank you very much, Dennis for your email, we were very glad about your message. Amazing, how small this world is and we´re very impressed that you found our website via this forum.

We´re two couples from Switzerland travelling around the world in our two Land Rovers. We planned to stay in Oz for a year and now we´re heading northwards up to Brisbane. At the moment, we´re staying at Soldiers Point for a couple of days and are enjoying the beach and the sun:-)

It would be great meeting some of you on or off the road, just flash your head lights and we´ll stop immediately

    Best wishes from
Martin & Andrea (white Defender) and Roger & Anita (green Defender)

G'day All, Mate you were on top of me (so to speak) I actually thought it was my wife driving our 110, pictured below

it doesn't have that S2A bulkhead on the roof ATM LOL, (I think this is the only pic I have of it) and heading west as I was (into the sun) just for a few seconds I thought it was especially when you flashed your lights, but saw the Green machine following, and your registration plates I was surprised, then realised you were on a world trip at the very least, all in a few seconds.
What a shame I didn't know you were in the area as I might have been able to show you some not well known lookouts easily reached in a Land Rover, anyway I hope you enjoy your stay at Soldiers Point, head off and have a look at Stockton beach 17 miles of sand, easily reached at Anna Bay (beach permit required obtained at service station Anna Bay) climb up Sth Head (Tomaree) access this at Shoal Bay about 15 minutes drive from where you are staying, anyway cheers Dennis
ps youtube link to my restored Land Rovers x 7, that I mentioned before,,.

It certainly is a small world - I saw Roger and Anita's green 130 Tdi in the parking area at Nelson Bay last Monday. Left a note and spoke by mobile later in day. A lovely couple and look forward to meeting sometime in next 12 months.
