ring Hyundai Australia and ask them. I have seen these things as learn to drive cars, I doubt all of them have clutch shudder and I bet the clutch gets ridden alot more than what yours does.

Only rentals I've had have been Getzs. They went back in working order so I'd be amazed if it could be in any way blamed on the driver!
and the winner is .......................
worn engine mounts !
fixed under warranty as was the leather steering wheel as the stitching was starting to fray.
Funny how both those items where covered by warranty but was told if it was the clutch or gearbox then it would not have been as they would have been "wear and tear"
LOL
Very easily. We used to have an Acco tilt tray with a V6 GM and a Roadranger as site work truck. After some of our operators who "claimed" to have truck driving experience had their turn in this thing, we ended up spending a lot of dollars to have it repaired and then made it a "single user" vehicle (well at least only one operator per shift). :D
It's surprising the number of people out there who "think" they can drive a truck.
Not always the case. Clutch plates, brake pads are classed as wear out items and although I have seen clutches last 250,000 km I have also seen them gone at 50,000.
If you took a new car back at 60,000 with a worn out clutch plate and they find no reason(oil leaking onto clutch, faulty pressure plate or pressure plate bolts loose for example) they would not warrant this.
Dave.
So if you bought a Toyota in the last few years you are stuffed. 50,000 seems to be the max people are getting from them.:D:D.
Back to the thread good you got it sorted.
I would have taken it in and when they said not covered I would have asked for it in writting with signature and then informed them that I would be seeking a second opinion and contacting head office for replacement / refund on dodgy vehicle not fit for purpose.
