I reckon this bloke would be seen....

    and maybe her....

And this guy - well, he and his girl were obviously latte supping 40 somethings - elite members of the cafe society...that is until he ate her ...

Which reminds me...remember kids......motorcycles and crack don't mix....

    Hi,
years ago there was a cartoon on this 'invisibility of motorcycles to motorists'.

The cartoon was of two motorcyclists on old German military BMW with side cars.
One has a formidable looking search light and operator mounted in the side car, and he is complaining that even with this on, he rarely gets given right of way.
The other biker has a tripod mounted, belt fed machine gun, and operator in his side car, and his comment is that he never has this problem, and if he did, he had a solution.

    cheers

I still nod to all other motor cyclists - even HD riders & scooters. Maybe I don't get the same responces as I used to, but I'll keep the tradition alive. It won't ever be me that doesn't wave back. And even though HD riders rarely nod back, they are mostly a good bunch - just out to have a good time like the rest of us.

    Cheers - Gav.

I'm just a lowly push cyclist but often go the nod and chat at the lights to all fellow two wheelers - especially on cold mornings!

Unfortunately I am off the bike for a while as I was clearly invisible to the blokes in the oncoming direction waiting to turn right at the traffic lights. Clearly I was seen as a 'break in the traffic' rather than a fellow road user as they turned across me as I passed straight through the intersection. I dodged the first but didn't see the one following him round until I landed on his bonnet.

All things considered escaped with not too much damage - bruises, grazes and a dislocated big toe - kept me in hospital for three days though!

Ouch! I hope you are on the mend. It seems any two wheeled machine, be it petrol powered or man powered is invisible to motorists. I think all motorists should be made to ride a push bike around for a week in the city - I think it would make them different drivers...

    600CC. That's a scooter not a motor bike.

with running the risk of being shunned i would like to say that maybe 80% riders out there on public roads s*** me to tears, yes i can ride and because i know how, i choose not to for two reasons I know how fun it is, and 2 my wife knows what i am like and wont let me my main gripe is that if your in such a hurry to weave between 200m plus of stationary cars twist the throttle and head on your merry way when the light is GREEN, oh and also the dotted line of a multi-lane motorway is not a lane.
    Wecome to sunday.

Hmm - no none told me the dotted line wasn't a lane... I get annoyed when cars think they are allowed to cross this and get in my way...

In this town, its HD, Trumpy or KTM mainly... And theres lots of all of them. A few Kwakas and Yammies too.. So many bikes!

All my mates ride HDs... Most from either childhood dreams of owning one or they are in a 1% club... All of them are great people, educated and social... They all acknowledge other riders.

And to be seen, well nothing looks as good as a pile of bikes out for a ride Then you're seen and heard...

I'm the one in the Black Top & Camo
