    Lightbulb Scallop's Time Machine!

    Distinguished Colleagues,

It was with much excitement that the Scallop, just last night, put the finishing touches to a long term project - a working, real, fair dinkum, time machine.

Imagine the potential of such a device! I did. After breakfast, Kat and I climbed into the contraption and set the dial to 1956! Maybe some of you can see where this is going now - well, once the white light passed, we staggered back out of the thing and took the 1 mile walk to Blue Ribbon motors, the local Land Rover dealership.

Man - In we marched - lovely, shiny Land Rovers everywhere. 107 utes, 86 shorties, even an old stock 80 was on offer. I dragged out my wallet, and put my 600 pounds down on the spot. Drove out the door in my brand new Series 1 86 inch Land Rover - how cool is that?

Fantastic - let's go home and grab some sandwiches!

This was just too good to be true - I loved my new car - but I needed to be sure this was actually real. I could tell right away that this little truck was a keeper - and who wouldn't come to the same conclusion?

Anyway - to make sure this all wasn't just a weird dream, I went back home, and we drove the S1 straight up my ramp back into the time machine - take me home to 2010!!! It's not for the faint hearted, the old time travel - makes your face feel all weird

Geez - Time travel is hard work - but it was good to be "home" - with my brand new S1. I looked at the odometer....

It wasn't a dream! Brilliant! So off we went for Matilda's inaugural drive. I stopped down the road at this lovely spot....

The beautiful scenic rim of SE Qld - God's country....

What a fine time we had too, it is such a beautiful time of year....

Headed into Rosevale but just kept going, I need to run my baby in!

Pulled over to admire the view... Kat always brightens up my day...the 2 loves of my life

We just kept driving - all over the scenic rim....

So - if any of you other AULROvians are sick of your boring Discos et al, you are more than welcome to come over, borrow my Time Machine, and upgrade to a real Land Rover....

Very nice! I must come up sometime and borrow that time machine of yours - could I set it for 1985 and go and buy my own Rangie when it was new??? Would that mean I would have 2 vehicles with the same rego & VIN? That would confuse Vicroads I think.

    Cheers - Gav

Good one Dan, great to see Matilda finished. I hope you and Katwoman enjoy many trouble free miles.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

It pays to haggle - or threaten to send the car salesman back to France, circa 1789, to the Guillotine.

I see real potential here - is your "current" Rangie insured?
