Incisor, thanks - that link to Benzworld is already nestled amongst my favourites. I find that FAQ pretty well written and it was that site that convinced me to do a fluid/filter change in the first place! Thankfully mine is a post-2000 transmission so (according to that site) less problematic than pre-2000. I don't really have a major problem with mine, it's just that shifts are becoming a little jerky, and a little lethargic - kickdowns and change ups are no longer instant. Just the kind of thing that a service should normally solve.Quote:

There's no dipstick in the car, and the filler hole is sealed, such that you have to buy a new seal at $5 (and also a new pan seal, as the bottom part of the filler hole seal snaps off and slides down the hole and has to be collected from there) and a $40 workshop dipstick if you want to actually check the level!
