    Disco Lift without compromising safety

Just curious as i am new here and to Land Rovers (hope this is in the right thread sorry) but i have been up close to a few discos are the 97-2000+ models and they are low to the earth, what kind of lift can you safely put under them without compromising safety, i mean, do they get top heavy when lifted to high? what wheel size can i fit....?
I am hopeing soon to buy a year 2000+ Turbo Diesel Disco and want to put in some good lift and big tyres ...any help please or point me in the right thread direction please

I own a disco 2 and run a 2in lift with 3in oversize tyres. Im happy with that and it goes most places that the big lifted patrols and cruisers go on 35's with 6-8in lifts.

The only down side is the wading depth without getting water inside the car and the height of rock steps that you can approach without smashing the front on them.

But im over ploughing through deep puddles and I dont mind packing some rocks in front of the rock step. I also enjoy watching these guys struggle to pick a line on dodgy slopes as their vehicles are unstable.

You cant go much more than a 2in lift in a disco 1, if you want more height a 2in body lift can also be added, couple that with some 33-34in tyres and you have a nice comfortable height. It wont be a sports car but it shouldnt be to bad.

Im no expert on the D2, Slunnie would be the man to talk to, plus a few others in the D2 forum as posted above.
