Aiming for 7.0-7.2 at around 190-200mph when its sorted out...
Have tested it so far, with a VERY ROUGH 1st attempt, at a stretched/ widened and lengthened series 1 body, but looked like ****..... so i have redone it all.
It ran a 7.85 @184mph, so the power is there, just alot to learn on the Tune UPS and clutch settings etc... I have just installed a data logger, which gives me alot of info for SAFETY and tune ups, so should be lots easier now to sort it out..
Reads Engine rpm, tailshaft rpm, low oil pressure, blower boost, 8 temperature sensors(1 on every cylinder), 3 x fuel pressure readings, the list goes on.... To be honest I think learning the Computer is harder than Learning the car....
The engine has previously run 7.007 @199mph in a Doored Car heavier than this one...
We built it in the shed(body, and modification wise), just 3 of us, a truck mechanic, Im a Plumber and my Apprentice...... so Im happy with the result..
1st outing is in 2 weekends, on 21st November in Sydney, so if it runs in the 7secs consistently I will be over the moon.
Its handicap racing, anywhere between 6.5, and 7.99 secs, and most run lightweight dragsters or altereds, late model $200k doorslammer type vehicles, and most probably spend more on cleaning, polishing and Paintjobs, than I would on my whole budget for the season...
Everything is original, down to the windscreen surrounds etc,,, I painted it with a brush, and 2 costs of House SOLARGAURD(cottage green), and the roof paint, I found in a bent up tin in the back of the vehicle I used to do it....
Was badged as a Leylend, and had that grille and everything fitted, about 300mm forward of original Grille, and can be moved open or closed up, for COLD WEATHER I think???
Suited me perfectly, as its far enough forward for the Front mounted fuel tank...

wicked. good luck with the sponsors

LOVE THE BEAST!!!!!
AULRO wouldnt be in a position to sponsor,as AULRO relys on its members support to keep it happening.
It would be real neat to see the AULRO logo somewhere on that crazy machine, even if its just as a proud AULRO member.
It would be well worth aproaching any of the AULRO advertisers to seek support.Rovercraft(Dave Rowlands) supports a WA Off-Road team.
Let us WA AULROians know if you ever bring it to the Kwinana Motorplex,Im sure we would get a mob to come and cheer you on.

im sure I will find somewhere for a little sticker....
Yeah Kiwinna, Alice Springs and Darwin are on my Bucket list for Drag racing....
Just along way as you know, and need the time off from work, to do it, as self employed, its Hard... but I will get there trust me..
A fair few people go over for the Perth Major rounds, from the East, and alot just container/freight it over, seems cheaper than towing....
I would love to take a few months, travelling around, and just make it a holiday/racing adventure..... ONE DAY...
Thanks for the Reply

Hi Chad, i'd been keen to sponsor you but not in a position financially to do it at the moment. PM me your email and contact details and hopefully within a few months I'll be able to chip in something, maybe even on a regular basis to keep some signage on the beast.
