    i did it in three days going via the rig road, that was cruising alone at a comfortable pace, as i went in september the flies were plentiful hence we drove a little longer at the end of the end of the day

    the rig road was a good call, only cam acrodd one other car.....cool

    somebody mentioned wheel nuts...didn't even think to take probably because i have never lost a wheel nut

    re: fuel, my theory is always keep plenty up you sleeve, i also when onto finke but filled up at mt dare as you never know whats around the corner i.e big detour

    my eldest boy is always asking about heading back out there

    It's a bit out of the way, but if you can head down across the WAA line, it is probably the least travelled route. We did it in 2008 heading across for the start of the Madigan trip. Out of the three main routes (French, Rig WAA) I enjoyed it the most.

    Traffic on the French line during school holidays is approaching the F3

    btw....when i was at birdsville two tag along tours of about 10 cars each pulled in and were leaving the next day as was i

    i asked around for there departure time and made sure i left before them, i set off earlier than i planned 7am i thionk , glad i fueled up the night before beecause the fuel station was not open

    one guy had only had the 4wd for 3-4 weeks and sure enough over the uhf i heard he was having troubles with just about ever dune....soooo glad i was not behind them
