there are some interesting airports there... I have to say that whoever made that compilation hadn't had the opportunity of considering some of the airports/strips in PNG for inclusion
done 7 of them, but there quite a few othere not so nice ones.
CH CH in NZ for example, china and russia are both intresting places etc
Did Kai Tak once, last one down in a Typhoon.
Did a seawards approach and had abort and go around for a land approach in a Cathay 747?.
I swear we were looking up into the blocks of flats and were still turning over the perimeter.
The Typhoon hit halfway down the runway.
Very exciting.

Never flown abroad. Certainly some place are more interesting than others to land at. Worked in W. A at a mine with it`s own air strip. Could handle a 40 seat plane. Pilot located the air strip by sight. One time he almost over shot. Did not bother to come around. Just corked screwed his way down. Poor air hosty was spread eagle across the rear bulk head squealing. Quite a few, including my self got blood noses from the sudden decent. Came out of the spiral just in time to land with a fair old thud.

Be known for what you did. Not, for what you bought.
Hit hard unload and take off without turning around looks like someone wanted to leave in a hurry wonder why![]()
I've done Osaka, twice last year ... didn't seem scary at all - it's not the airports but rather the airline you choose to go with; that is of far greater concern to me.
Was on an Air Mauritius flight out of the island back in 05 and we took off ... next thing I see is fuel being dumped enmasse from both wings. Seems the landing gear would not retract which explained all the groaning hydraulic noises we were listening to for 15 mins whilst banking in circles! So 40 mins later we landed with a stuck nose gear and hit so hard that it broke the nose wheel ... we were transferred to another aircraft. Only incident I have ever had in a lifetime of flying ...
My mother flew for our national carrier for over a decade and she always told me that the most dangerous time in any flight is take off and landing -
Simon.
