Young bloke at work isnt a happy chappy.
Hit a golf ball his dog goes to fetch,hits another ball his dog wears it,runs to his feet and drops dead.SAD STORY.
Gets into his Navara,only goes a short bit up the road and it spits the dummy,YET NOTHER DEAD ZD30

I thought the ZD3.0 was ok in the Navara???? never heard of a probem with it in them

Turbo failed.
Motor is OK,head needs work,timing gear replaced,new turbo.There are scores in the piston that copped a valve.
Quoted around $5000 to get it going,then sell it.HEAD GASKET $500

.Surely this is wrong!!!!!
He has been making enquires,it seems the turbo failure at this age is a developing problem for Nissan.

Dont the ZD30's normally just blow holes in pistons? Never heard turbo failure being the problem.

In the early Pootrols YES.
As mentioned they havent been an issue in the Navara.Lighter vehicle,les engine load/towing loads?????????????????
This is a turbo failure and shrapnel into the motor.The owner spoke to a rebuilder in Perth and was told the turbo failure is VERY common in the 200000k age bracket.
