    4x Mailboxes

hi all, in the process of doing some work around the unit complex we live in. Its divided into two entrances, our entrance caters for 4 units and the one a bit further down the road caters for 6 units.

We have just had a heap of earth moving works done to level out the front yards of the 3 units that front onto the road, one is ours, so that we could get new colour bond fences. The fences are up and Im in the process of slowly mulching all the bare soil between the fences and the nature strip area so we can get some plants happening to tart the place up.

Once the gardens are all done the place will look a crap load better than they used to, but the problem I face is that the old crappy mailbox will be an eyesore and ruin all the hard work that has been put in fence and garden wise.

Im hoping to talk to the strata manager and see if she will put it to strata to pay for the materials if I do any construction/installation.

I have been looking around on the net but cant seem to find anything decent. Im open to ideas, brick one, nice metal one. I have no idea. At the moment its a crappy 4 letterbox job with steel legs and old crappy beaten up alloy boxes with the flaps in the front to get the mail out. They arent real big either.

    Any ideas?

I realise this wont suit you ACE.
Microwave oven mailboxes are all the rage in the country.
The lazy ones just put them at the front gate.Seen plenty painted all one colour and even decorated, these look quite flash.
    Why are they so popular????
Basically insect and weather proof, plenty big enough for the bread and even emergency grocery order sent out with the post run.

Yeah, i'd been thinking about something along those lines. Just thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone knew about something different, Landyandy came to the rescue on the different side of things

We could have 4 fridges cause they would fit my parts parcels in more easily and the posty could put small stuff in the freezer compartment and the larger items in the fridge section and sort the mail for me

We lost 3 milk churn mail boxes from our farm, including thieves with a gas axe. We ended up using old oil drums because they last longer and don't interest the thieves.

You try to make your place nice and the thieves (and we suspect 2nd hand dealers) decide they can have it because we left it lying at the fence.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Pretty sad isnt it. I left a rope and a tarp at the front of my place, the rope was some climbing rope so wasnt cheap but it was great for tying stuff down on the trailer. I forgot it was there, totally my fault, but someone decided they needed the rope more than me and unwrapped the tarp and took the rope. I'd love to catch them in the act.

stay well away from brick as they attract moister and spiders go for large metal ones like at bunnings and remember to have them at about chest height so you dont have to bend over or get down on your knees to get the mail out the poste would like them at about his shoulder height when sitting on the bike and dont have any garden or rocks around them for everyone to trip over including the poste and remember to leave a 6 pack for the poste on christmas eve
