Yes mate I agree with you and in no way tried to denigrate any of our armed forces.Whole different ball game when some bastard is firing fair dinkum bullets at you. That applies IMHO to all our troops serving in war zones.

I saw it - very engaging TV. Definitely be watching next week.
I knew their selection process was tough, but I didn't know how tough.
Makes everyone like me in a regular office job look like pansies.

BTW it may be on the SBS website to view.

Sorry mate, didn't mean to make it look like how you read it...... if you know what I mean

There are so many lads n lasses out there who are never really mentioned or 'seen' but yet miss the 'glory' of a motto... or the romance of a history emblazed in glory...

It was just a personal acknowledgement by me that they all have stepped up to the mark and do a job that really is never given the due credit it deserves... There is a lot of personal sacrifice that goes unrewarded....

The most interesting thing for me is that they got the SBS to do a show about the SAS

I wonder how many people get that reference. Probably more on a land rover forum.

Although this is a great recruitment tool for the government, I think it's great that these guys get a bit of a big up, as long as it's not at the expense of security .....no doubt they have some bloke from defence saying what not to film and obviously they would have editors veeto
what a load of rubbish. I was on a course with a number of SAS troopers and they made all sorts of excuses not to shave beards and not to be in course photos and the WO called up the seniors at Swanbourne and questioned their excuses and was told there is no validity to their excuses. All the troopers shaved and featured in the course photographs.
some operations are very covert and clandestine but everyone knows (or can easily find out) who is involved anyway. the SAS troopers are very special and highly trained in their various guises and I take nothing away from
them. I have played and trained with them in various roles and take my hat off to their capability and professionalism.
