    Loaner Car

D4 went in today for some squeaky rubber replacements.....no, I'm not getting them fitted, I'm getting them removed...suspension rubbers....

Was told I was getting a Freelander loaner. Was sort of looking forward to that as I've noticed how they have grown and have been interested in driving the 'little brother'!

There was some sort of mix up and I was given a different car...........I turned, looked at the car and looked back at the LR guy...."a Volvo....are you freakin kidding?"

A new V50...felt weird slipping into it, side view mirrors the size of teaspoons, my butt at just about road level.......felt paranoid about being run over by some crazy LR owner....LOL!!!

Read the handbook looking for the instructions to make the selections which would allow me to drive the car without a hat and to allow me to drive the car above 40kph.

It's actually quite a nice car....but would rather have my D4 back....

    Cheers,

    Kev.

Oh and did I mention, instead of leather and walnut.....it's got IKEA plywood features.

I kid you not, I was looking for the Allen Keys....

It actually looks better than over-lacquered wood finish......

Must be Southside as they do Volvos and Honda servicing. I always let them know I want something that can carry what I usually put in the Defender... A few years ago they made the mistake of giving me a Honda Jazz...

    That's great....LOL!!!

Austral in the Valley. Was supposed to get another D4 but something went wrong and the car never turned up.

Anyway....wasn't a bad car....drove smoothly and accurately but boring as bat pooh. Apparently the turbo version is pretty impressive. The engine was disappointing really....modern 2.4L with a 5 speed auto....my wife's Pug 307 would eat it alive.

Got the D4 back....god I've been spoiled....just feels so good....
