Hi all,
My 13 yo is a bit of a couch potato, so thought I would try some father-son activities so get him some sun!
I used to enjoy fishing but haven't wet a line in over 10 years!
Anyway, I was going to purchase a 'beginners' rig for him and take him out. But where?
I live in Ferny Hills, Brisbane and am seeking an easy to get to (land rover easy that is!) shore based spot to take him for a fish.
I don't mind travelling a bit but he will probably get bored after an hour or so and we'll come home.
Any suggestions?
Ralph

Take him to the local jetty where heaps of others are fishing..You may not catch much, but he will be able to wonder around and see if anyone else has and will proberly be able to chat to a few people to keep the bordom away..
Thats what I used to do with my daughters and they loved it..
Worth a try..
Cheers Ean
A medium priced light line out fit, use 1 or 2 kilo line. I know its light but he will catch fish, may loose a lot but for someone startiing out its about catching fish. Take him somewhere and burley the water up, inclose to the bank and when you can see the fish taking the burley load some up on a hook. Im think things like poddy mullet, bream, flathead. Some of these are baitfish to somepeoplke but a whole lota fun for others. Catch em and through em back
cheers
