    i've gone backwards.......and joined the PUMA club

    well after selling my D2a I have bought a PUMA!
    Talk about goin backwards
    Driving home On the Fwy I couldn't believe the amount of road noise! Then the most massive bang (a rock under the rear wheel arch) had me #$%^ castanets! Don't even want to tell you how i ducked for cover on the gravel road as i thought kids were shooting at me!

    Things I dont like
    a)No soundproofing
    b)wind noise
    c)No climate control - seriously a $15K jap car has it
    d)No cruise control
    e)rear wiper only runs 1 speed - flat out! what's wrong with intermittent?
    f)when selecting reverse and front wipers are on rear doesn't come on
    g)no headlight 'on' chime
    Surely LR could have raided the left over D2 parts bin for the Puma

    Things I like
    a)Everything!! seriously these are awesome find myself going 'down the street' and coming back 3hrs later!

    I have a build list and have already started 'collecting' bits
    Now to find the 'slunnie' of defenders and start breaking his $%^# about suspension setup..........

    The things you don't like don't really matter for a shed on wheels. The problem is LR can't get the things that do matter right.

    Firstly, congratulations.

    Now to your concerns:


    a)No soundproofing
    Add some
    b)wind noise

    c)No climate control - seriously a $15K jap car has it
    aircon is better than any other defender
    d)No cruise control
    Aftermarket available
    e)rear wiper only runs 1 speed - flat out! what's wrong with intermittent?
    Can get a different relay that will fix this
    f)when selecting reverse and front wipers are on rear doesn't come on
    push switch
    g)no headlight 'on' chime
    Headlight are only on when the car is on, otherwise parking lights only.

    drive slower, take in the scenery.

    Now you have a defender you have to have the automatic "Wave to other Defender drivers" function installed

    Not without big $$$ on a TDCi Defender...

    Even stock lift the front is marginal.

    first trip out passed and SVX and a black 90 and got the wave

    the other day passed another 2 and NO wave WT!!!!
